Word Liver Day

🌟 Today we celebrate World Liver Day! 🌟

Why is it so important to dedicate a day to this vital organ? The liver performs over 500 essential functions for our health, from filtering toxins to aiding in digestion and metabolism. Despite its importance, we often overlook its health.

Every year, thousands of people are affected by liver diseases, and the numbers are staggering: 1.5 billion people live with chronic liver diseases, and 2 million lives are lost annually. But the good news is that early prevention can save many of these lives.

Discover how we are making a difference! 🌟

Eduardo López, President of AELALD, has collaborated with the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) to address the challenges and needs of patients affected by rare liver diseases, such as Lysosomal Acid Lipase Deficiency (LAL-D). You can watch it in this video prepared by EASL 👉
